Nick de la Hoyde - Love Takes Time [Video]

April 16, 2017 by N3 On The Track in Music, Music Videos, Pop

Sydney, Australia based singer/songwriter/rapper Nick de la Hoyde begun expressing himself through music when he was 16 and pursuing a professional, football career in Barcelona. Music quickly became an outlet through which Nick could express the frustrations that come with chasing your dreams and the result was a unique and deeply personal insight into youth, dreams and determination. Growing up in a multi-cultural home with a Syrian mother and British father, Nick was exposed to many global influences which he weaved into his music melding sounds of hip hop, rock, alternative, R&B and spoken word, together with introspective lyrics that read like personal journal entries. Nick and his long-time producer/collaborator/older brother Joseph (ZUZU) de la Hoyde, have crafted a sound that is simultaneously intimate, expansive and engaging. Now at 22, Nick has penned confessional, real life anthems such as Thinking Bout You, Never Gonna Beg For It, By My Side and Changing, that take you on a free-spirited, hypnotic and sometimes soulful sonic journey to find the path forward. Nick has quickly made a name for himself in the social media space cultivating a large and dedicated on-line following, becoming a powerful voice for youth empowerment and positivity.

LOVE TAKES TIME

Nick’s newest installment ‘Love Takes Time’ is a sultry electronic track that bends the line between pop and future, showcasing Nick’s evolution into a very capable pop artist. In the lyric, Nick’s yearning for love turns into the realization that love truly does takes time and can’t be forced. Nick’s delicate falsetto sits upon a bed of mallets before crescendoing to an intense swelling of synth and percussion in the choruses.

Varsity Week - Anyways [Video]

March 15, 2017 by N3 On The Track in Music, Music Videos, Pop

Los Angeles alt-pop act VARSITY WEEK is thrilled to reveal the music video for their single, " Anyways " which premiered on Alternative Press this past Friday.

Vocalist Brandon Eisenbeis explains, "'Anyways' is about walking away from anything that's not working and starting fresh. We can all relate to that. We really wanted to express that in the concept for the video." Directed by Ryan Pesecky ( http://ryanpesecky.com ), the video is a visually stunning piece of art, with heartfelt storyline. "The video pushes new breath into the song, to a point where we understand it better as a band," adds guitarist Dave Orton. "I don't think we were expecting that, actually - I know we weren't."

Produced by Jim Kaufman [Night Riots, Beware of Darkness, Emery] and Kenny Carkeet, "Anyways" thrives with its gigantic, addictive pop hook and 90's alt-bubblegum, yet soulful sound. The single debuted earlier this year with prominent youth outlet Twist Magazine , who told its' readers, "you're about to become obsessed with [Varsity Week's] infectious music."

Mr Sanka - Be Easy [Video]

March 06, 2017 by N3 On The Track in Music, Pop

"The most exciting band around" Wonderland
"One of the most exciting new acts in music today" Hilly Dilly
"A first step that introduces a band with no limits to their ambitions" DIY
"Leaves you sky high" NME

"Drawing from 60s and 70s era pop and French house....Mr Sanka soars" All Things Go

Mr Sanka have premiered 'Be Easy', the first track to be lifted from their forthcoming 'Gallon' EP (PMR/B3SCI). This follows the breakout success of debut single 'Flight Mode', which topped Spotify charts in the likes of the UK, US, Netherlands, Canada and went top 10 in the Global Viral Chart (with over 2 million streams).

'Be Easy' confirms Mr Sanka's arrival as one of the year's most exciting and unlikely new bands. It's ultimately, they say, "a song of hope, about coming out of a rough 2016 for everyone", musically twisting the three-piece's live instrumentation around the kind of organic, textured electronica of Metronomy or Cashmere Cat. The uplifting results introduce 'Gallon', a loosely winter-themed EP which nonetheless hint at warmth, sun and better days ahead.

Pulling from three diverse life journeys, Mr Sanka flourishes with a cosmopolitan diversity that belies nationality. Dutch singer and visual artist Nick - who also designs all the band's artwork - met London-based producers Mus and Murray by chance when they were all visiting Los Angeles. They immediately hit it off, forming a friendship (and very quickly, Mr Sanka) alternately defined by working in extreme distance, and extreme proximity: the early results of Mr Sanka suggest a restless fusion of sounds, in which relationships are audibly evolving and whatever time you have together counts.

With the band taking their name from a character in the film 'Cool Runnings', you may recognise Mr Sanka's actual long-haired leader of the pack, Nick van Hofwegen: a nomadic young designer who originally left a small village in The Netherlands for Berlin. Nick then travelled to London - where he sold handbags at an airport - via Brooklyn and L.A, arriving with just $100 in his pocket (but eventually finding fans including tour-mate Chance The Rapper).

A random encounter between three strangers far from home may have brought Mr Sanka together, but what's emerged is an exciting new band who find themselves precisely where they're supposed to be.
