Lord Olaf - Y'all (ft. Chuck Inglish & AmirSaysNothing)

September 26, 2016 by N3 On The Track in Music, Rap

The artist behind the Lord Olaf title is 19 year old LA-native CJ Harper. Harper was raised on music, introduced to everything from rap to folk and encouraged to pursue his interest in creating his own music from a young age. As he got older, Harper continued his musical exploration and took to the internet to make his own discoveries. What began as rapping over homemade beats after middle school became a way to carve out a space of his own in the music world. Though he has been making music with his friends under the name Swerve Squad, TRU2U marks the first major release for Lord Olaf. The 5 track EP blends together west coast hip hop, indie and metal sounds, showcasing Harper's wide array of influences. Harper calls the project a collection of "confessional poetry," with lyrics that explore the angst and irreverence of adolescent life and love. "TRU2U is for the nerd who asks out the cheerleader, the skater who plays violin & the stoner who works a 9-5."

Y’all - “I listened to the Cool Kids Pandora station every day in 7th grade and that introduced me to this whole world of new music. I wrote the beat and hook one night and then had Chuck and Amir over a couple weeks later to record. Chuck showed up in head to toe Fila, I was geeking out. And then Amir has one of the loudest rap voices- he’ll spit like 400 bars and then one about a Prius. He did all the ad libs on that record too.”

Cliz - "Class Is In Session"

September 26, 2016 by N3 On The Track in Music, Hip-Hop, Rap

Before you tune in to one of the most controversial songs Cliz has written to date, he wants to clarify that he believes in education wholeheartedly. Does our educational system need work? Yes…but that’s not the point. He believes that we all need to be exposed to every spectrum that falls under the educational umbrella. But he also believes that our purpose on Earth cannot always be taught in a classroom or lecture hall. Cliz’s purpose is to tell stories. Stories through the lens of experience, hardships, but most importantly, commitment.

Cliz’s new single, “Class is in Session”, tells the story of his leap of faith. One that required him to make a difficult choice. Was he supposed to pursue what he has been specifically put on this Earth to accomplish? Or does he establish a “Plan B” and enroll in a 4-year degree program just to attempt to make others happy, but ultimately, not himself? These are questions that some of us will face and Cliz explores in his latest release. Will you make the right one? #MayNothingStopYou

“Class Is In Session” is also available on all major streaming outlets.

Growing up, Cliz was never a big fan of Hip-Hop/Rap which he blames on the radio. He enjoyed listening to the greats like Eminem and Jay-Z but was always looking for more. All of that changed when he moved to Florida in 2006 and began to fall in love with Hip-Hop. One day, Cliz had an idea. That idea was to grab a guitar hero mic, plug it into audacity, and rap over a Lil Wayne instrumental. On that very day, Cliz was born. The first real song Cliz ever wrote was about his cousin, Ryan, who passed in July of 2006. After writing that song, he was positive that his purpose was to tell stories and paint vivid pictures through song and poetry. When you hear his music now, you hear his pain, struggle, and determination like never before.

Tyrone - Get Used To It

September 24, 2016 by N3 On The Track in Music, Rap

For the past month Tyrone has been locked in a studio in south Sydney (Australia) working day and night on new material in the lead up to his next release '2'. This latest instalment of the mixtape series (3, 2, 1) truly shows Tyrone in a new light as a talented songwriter who can craft together catchy hooks and flows alongside a sonically exciting beat. He has for years been the underdog of the Sydney rap scene but over the past 6 months his rise has been solidified and now is on the way to being a household name.

Tyrone mixes and masters his own productions which is something many new age artists are not capable of. In past instances many successful artists such as Travis Scott and Party Next Door mix their own music and this instantly gives the produced tracks a personalised and unique feel, something Tyrone is with every day becoming more skilled and innovative with and with '2' the results are clearly heard.

His newly found hook flow is also something to be admired especially in 'Get Used To It'. He intentionally leaves space between words which brings such a catchy and memorable edge to the music. Many artists feel the need to leave minimal space with lyrical flow but as we know with many things in life, less is more and Tyrone is showing us that in the most exciting way possible through his music.

Post '2' being released he is moving towards his last release of the year being '1'. We know there is rumours of him planning to work with some of Australia's most reputable hip hop and rap producers so we can only imagine this is an artist who is going to propel to new heights by 2017.

This song here is just another single to help me get the ball rolling and get a fanbase going. This song is a tad more lighthearted than 'No Lies'. Something for the summer where I live.

Robb C. - Dope

September 22, 2016 by N3 On The Track in Music, Rap

Next up from the Compton neighborhood is bold and ambitious independent rapper/producer Robb C. Armed with a knack for infectious hooks and flow straight from the lineage of K. Dot, Robb’s aspirations are laid bare on his 2016 release, the Route ’93 EP. The project is chocked full with densely and dynamically textured instrumentals. In his lyricism and vivid storytelling, Robb C. offers rich mix of west coast swagger, classic MC bravado, and an honest intimacy unique to himself as well. Robb’s carefree and confident anthem “Dope” features some of his finest pop sensibilities and witty verse writing over a backdrop of a jangly, buoyant instrumental.

HAVMAX - Dark Pad

September 20, 2016 by N3 On The Track in Music, Rap

"Dark Pad" is about HAVMAX discovering her goddess power and unlocking the power of the universe through the blood mysteries.

Video on http://havmaxmusic.com/video

Lyrics:

stoners say I’m so rad
got em on it extra heavy like a dark pad
best pussy you ever had
HavMax got checks
only roll a joint for houseguests
ask the universe when it says yes
chill for the retrograde
and know the best days for progress
recognize that I’m a goddess
if you get confused
I’m the one on the HavMax mousepads
only roll a joint for houseguests
ask the universe when it says yes
chill for the retrograde
and know the best days for progress
recognize that I’m a goddess
if you get confused
I’m on the HavMax mousepads
if you get confused
I’m on the HavMax mousepads
if you get confused
I’m on the HavMax mousepads
if you get confused
I’m on the HavMax mousepads
