Geneva White - "Not The Same" (Feat. Reggie Coby)

November 02, 2017 by N3 On The Track in Music, Indie Pop

Debut EP Surface Out October 13

Surface EP Art

“Soulful songbirds, LA-based Geneva White is generating huge buzz with her dreamy, retro-R&B anthems” – Idolator

“’So Good To You,’ is a beautifully dreamy track that has me convinced this is what a Joss Stone and Lorde crossover would sound like” – The Huffington Post

“Geneva White explores that less-than-glamorous facet of romance in a lyrically raw and sonically dazzling manner in her latest single, ‘Surface.’” – Ones To Watch

“The lyrics [on ‘Dreamcatcher’] are dreamy and smooth, and the beat serves up a perfect contrast: it’s snappy, speedy, and vibey by comparison” - MiLK

"Dreamcatcher” & “So Good To You” featured on Spotify's Fresh Finds: Hiptronix & Six Strings Playlist. Playlists dedicated to "surfacing the latest songs from undiscovered artists that are capturing the world’s interest before the music becomes popular.”

"So Good To You" and "Dreamcatcher" featured on Apple Music’s Breaking Pop Playlist in 21 countries centered around “songs that are about to make a huge impact.”

Singer/songwriter Geneva White unveils her soulful debut EP Surface tomorrow, Friday, October 13th. Geneva’s expressive, bold vocals and sultry musical style already has many hooked. Not only has she garnered early praise from tastemakers such as V Mag, Buzzbands LA, and Live Nation’s own Ones To Watch, but she’s also been gaining momentum with the support from the editorial playlist curators at Spotify + Apple Music.

To celebrate the release of her EP, Geneva performed her first headline show at the Moroccan in Los Angeles on Sunday, October 22.

Geneva White is no stranger to the music industry. A native of Key Largo, FL, she attended the University of Miami Frost School of Music and quickly developed her career upon graduation as a singer, songwriter and guitarist. She leant her vocals to Kan Wakan (Verve Records) for some time, opening for Royal Blood and Arctic Monkeys. Upon leaving the band, she fell into the songwriting scene, finding herself in sessions with the likes of Jeff “Gitty” Gitelman (Chance The Rapper, J. Cole), Chris Hartz(Childish Gambino, Passion Pit), and the UK’s legendary drum and bass artist Shy Fx to name a few. While perfecting her writing chops, many in the industry told her that she should accept her career as a songwriter, but she refused to settle. She left LA for London and immersed herself in the jazz scene, ultimately rediscovering her love of creating music.

Within a week of returning to LA to focus on her own original music, Geneva’s artist vision started to come to fruition. She was selected to perform back up for Lorde at this year’s Coachella, forcing her to double down on her efforts; diving head first into rehearsals and spending every other wakeful moment in the studio crafting her debut release. Simultaneously across the pond, Armada’s Low Steppa chose his next single to be their co-written house anthem “ Can’t Lie ;” featuring the compelling vocals of Geneva White. With over 4.5 million streams on Spotify alone, features in numerous Apple Music curated playlists, and the ongoing support from BBC Radio 1, the single “Can’t Lie” is set to see continued success.

Olivia Noelle - "Made of Gold"

November 02, 2017 by N3 On The Track in Music, Indie Pop

“Made of Gold,” produced by Lauv (Demi Lavato, Charli XCX, DJ Snake), is about recognizing your self-worth in a relationship with unapologetic lyrics “If I ain’t part of your plan, tonight it’s you and your hand.”

“I wrote ‘Made of Gold’ as a reminder to myself of my value and worth,” says Olivia. “It’s so interesting to me the lengths we go as human beings to be validated by others when the realty is it all stems from the inside out... I hope this song can help us all remember what we’re made of, whether it be gold, power, strength, confidence, beauty or whatever is true for you.”

Misunderstood - "Ghetto Style"

November 01, 2017 by N3 On The Track in Music, Indie Pop

British pop / R&B duo Misunderstood reveal their debut single ‘Ghetto Style’. The song was written by Misunderstood and Maegan Cottone (Little Mix, Britney Spears, Olly Murs).

Misunderstood are South East Londoners Stephan Benson and Jeff Okyere. The duo met while they were both at school, bonding over their love for music, choreography and their complicated childhoods. Although ‘Ghetto Style’ is their first proper release, the duo are no strangers to the limelight.

Having supported top pop acts like Boys II Men on tour, nabbed the Will.i.Am seal of approval and casually partied with Beyoncé in West Hollywood, Misunderstood have also attracted an impressive following on their social channels, simply through touring and organically growing a fanbase.

Their first gig at a Birmingham University fashion show, organised through a friend, had drawn in a large student crowd. They went on to play their second show in Germany.

Alongside recording songs like ‘ Sucker’ and ‘Imma Do My Thang ’ for their social networks, Misunderstood started producing and directing their own music videos – filming themselves as they travelled. Their fan base grew – and their dedication to their own marketing paid off as they accumulated huge numbers of fans on Facebook and even convinced promoters to let them support big acts like Chipmunk, Stooshe, DJ Fresh and Boys II Men on their UK tours.

“Our message is simple,” says Stephan. "It’s about being free to be yourself. It’s about being happy in you. It’s about having fun. It’s storytelling about the people who aren’t being shouted about. You’ll see and hear that in everything; the music, our style and in our videos. Our personalities and beliefs are bottled into our music.”

Jane XØ - "Let Me Down Easy" (with LöKii)

October 31, 2017 by N3 On The Track in Music, Indie Pop

Jane XØ has revealed her new track, ‘Let Me Down Easy’ . The emotional song follows the release of ‘Love Me’ and its follow-up remix EP ‘Alternate Love’ earlier this year, and continues a series of incredibly high quality trap-pop productions which have left critics astounded and consistently questioning the identity of the artist.

Since emerging in 2016 with a mysterious Soundcloud account, and zero followers, Jane XØ has caught the attention of the electronic music community around the world. In her few public comments, Jane has expressed her wish to remain anonymous. “Being able to express myself musically without limits, no worries of judgement, no worries of success or failure.”

While speculation is rife about her true identity, one things remain certain - Jane XØ’s music is a surefire hit. Her feature with Mike Perry ‘Touching You Again’ has amassed over 17.5 million streams on Spotify alone, and with her own productions she she’s consistently climbed the Hype Machine charts as well as amounting millions of streams across all platforms.

In her ambient, floating signature sound, Jane XØ blends urban pop, world music and dance elements into an exotic, laid-back chill out tune in a class of its own. Danceable electro sounds, crisp staccato beats, warped tribal influences, and above all Jane XØ’s distinctive, sexy, goosebumps-evoking vocals.

What stands Jane XØ apart from other artists in her field, is that all ego has been stripped away in favour of purity in the pursuit of her art. Keeping the images behind the music and the vocals of Jane XØ completely anonymous – the wild, untamed emotion and passionate personality in the songs and performances take centre stage. Jane makes music that resonates and connects. She takes no notice of judgments and doesn’t worry about what critics might have to say. By doing so, the art and ideas are kept intact.

Song after song, Jane is all about bringing the truth to light. For her, the future is wide open, the possibilities are endless, and the music is what matters.

Jubel - "Illusion"

October 30, 2017 by N3 On The Track in Music, Indie Pop

Ever since that cold, dark Swedish winter day when Jubel came together, their purpose has been to bring warmth to people by taking them on a feel-good journey - a journey built of organic sounds mixed up with electro elements. Jubel is a collision of artistic talents with various backgrounds and locations and is fronted by Sebastian and Victor, previously known from the house duo Galavant.

“‘Illusion’ sounds like a bittersweet film, with its elements of both hope and melancholy. It is about not being able to let go of something that you deep down know is over and belongs to the past”, Jubel says about their new single.

NEIMY is the artist and songwriter who is featured on the track, and she brings a soft electronic indie-pop sound with a touch of soul to the mix. Her voice is clear, crispy and cuts like a knife through the cold autumn air. ‘Illusion’ is definitely a warming tune with its dreamy vibe.

FJØRA - "Magic"

October 12, 2017 by N3 On The Track in Music, Indie Pop

anadian-born pop artist FJØRA has released her debut EP, WATERCOLOR, out today on UNSECRET MUSIC / Tone Tree Music. FJØRA's goal for this debut was to create an instinctual, visceral, and organic sound emanating from her musical heritage.

"WATERCOLOR is my first EP release, which is why it was important to me that it be reflective of the person I am at this moment in time," says Alexandra Petkovski (a.k.a FJØRA). "It's a little weird, a little quirky, dramatic, fun - a bit experimental and an exploration of the kinds of music I love and never thought I could be taken seriously for before. FJØRA means 'rolling tide' and having been strongly connected with water my whole life, it just made sense that this first 'shade' of music I share be encompassed by its name - combining the two most significant things in my life. Water and color. I am truly appreciative of this chance to now let it leave its nest and find its place in all of this beautiful world!"

The Nashville music scene has played a crucial role in the development of her debut EP. Previous singles "Wild Animals" and "Zodiac" were produced by Bryan Todd (Miley Cyrus, Jordin Sparks) and Josh Hawkins (R.L.U.M.R.) respectively, with Michael McEachern lending his talents to "Shallow." And "Magic" features contributions from Nashville hitmakers Sam Tinnesz and Jon Santana.

Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, FJØRA (a.k.a. Alexandra Petkovski) began studying music at an early age. Her father, a professional musician, taught her classical piano, which led to improv jazz, and eventually a keen interest in composition and film scoring. Alexandra went on to study music composition, and received a Masters of Commercial Music in Composition and Arranging from Belmont University in Nashville. She is now a NYC resident, attending NYU's Steinhardt School of Music on a path toward obtaining her PhD in Composition.

"Coming from a really classical and film scoring background, I always felt it was funny how much I enjoyed jamming out to upbeat pop music in my free time," reflects FJØRA. "I believe that in today's commercial music world, there doesn't have to be a divide between creating cinematic compositions and electronic pop music."

La Poré - "SAD GIRL"

October 10, 2017 by N3 On The Track in Music, Indie Pop

The Cleveland, OH native, and Columbus based, La Poré, makes a return after the debut release of the 80s dance inspired “Close” earlier this summer. The new track, "SAD GIRL," continues the artists trend by uniquely crafting nocturnal, atmospheric, and retro vibes with luscious waves of contemporary pop. The release is set for Friday, September 29, 2017.

La Poré is multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Nick Samson, who takes influence from artists such as Prince, Michael Jackson, and recent offerings from The Weeknd, Foster the People, Blood Orange, and Tame Impala. "SAD GIRL" takes on the issues associated with anxiety and its affect on relationships. The constant fear of something going wrong even when things appear perfect; wondering endlessly if you're doing enough to keep the other person happy.
